Ethan's birthday

The first of August my son turns 20. I went to Richmond to visit him today (Saturday). He's grown up some, but still has a way to go. He is still struggling with what to do with his life. This tough love is as hard on the Mom as it is on the son. I hope he'll go to school soon. It's so hard to see him not knowing what to do and what direction to go. He's scared and in these times I don't blame him. Please keep him in your prayers.

Happy Birthday Ethan! I'll love you forever. I'll like you for always. As long as I'm living my baby you'll be.

July 4th

[July 4th] ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forevermore” - John Adams
